Moco Global Dining, housed in the old Maxie Sushi location, has undergone a huge transformation in cuisine, menu and décor. The menu, now a combination between sumptuous sushi and creative Italian-inspired dishes, is as unique and worldly as the new chef, Joe Kurauchi. Kurauchi, trained in Japan, has traveled the world and has let his experience translate into his eclectic menu.
The name Moco comes from the Japanese word “moco-moco,” meaning “warm and fuzzy.” That is just the environment the management at Moco wants to create for its patrons, a cozy, warm atmosphere with plenty of creative, delicious food to satisfy any hunger. Nosh on a Baby Octopus Ceviche, Spinach and Ricotta Gnocchi, and a Spider Sushi Roll all in the same sitting and you won’t be disappointed! Even some of the rolls have a creative Italian influence, such as the Italian Roll filled with Dried Tomato, Cream Cheese and Salmon. And if you decide to order Nigiri and Sashimi, you’ll be pleasantly surprised the order comes with two pieces, as opposed to the one that most places serve for exactly the same price!

Rocket Salad—Baby arugula with pear, shaved hard ricotta, lemon vinaigrette
Gnocchi—Spinach and ricotta gnocchi with pancetta, parmigiano reggiano, and brown butter
Vegee Vegee Roll—Romaine lettuce, kanpyo, cucumber, avocado, tomato, pickled relish
Spider Roll—Soft shell crab, romaine lettuce, masago, avocado, cucumber
Italian Roll—Dried tomato, salmon, cream cheese
Extremely poor service. Never came inside the building, apparently waited outside briefly then returned to retaurant, and refused to return with order.

The food at Moco is really authentic. I'm really surprised how they've received such mediocre ratings on seamlessweb when other restaurants which are terrible have scored higher. Riding on the ramen craze in NY these days, I tried theirs and it was very tasty. The grilled tapas were tasty and sushi (had a spicy yellowtail scallion roll) fresh. Having lived in Murray Hill for the last ten years, I think it far exceeds the other options in the area.

Sushi from an Italian restaurant? Trust your insticts this is the worst sushi I have ever had. Not to mention having to wait an hour and a half for my delivery. Tetering on the verge of starvation by the time my food arrived the microscopic rolls did little to curb my my hunger so its a good thing the consistency of the fish made me lose my appetite .

I had the gnocchi and chicken kebab for dinner. Both were very delicious. Kudos specially to the gnocchi.
